We’re trying to build a mastering studio — and the rental space we can afford is not nearly as big as we would have liked, but we want to do what we can to try to make it sound good. We will try to get a bigger room in the future, but as for now, this is what we have to work with. Can you help?

PERSPECTIVE VIEW (not to scale but kind of close):

Ok, I had to warp the pic of the two chairs a little bit to make them look at least a little bit right.

Each wall is labeled with a letter, so that we can easily discuss what to do with them.

The green floor is actually thin green carpet approximately 2mm thick.

The walls are sheetrock.

The ceiling is that textured white stuff (I think its called popcorn)

I think Wall C and Wall B have brick about 6″ behind the sheet rock, all other walls (including underneath the windows of Wall D, its weird) have adjacent rooms, or empty space on the other side.

We were thinking of mounting the Projector Screen on some Owens and Corning 703 so that it could be both a screen and absorption material. Good idea? Bad idea?

TOP VIEW (to scale)

I was thinking the top view, to scale, may make instructing us easier. Also, it might be easy for you to edit and illustrate your ideas in a graphics program if you do that kind of thing, and if you feel like it.

ACTUAL PICTURE FACING WALL B

Nothing is actually moved in yet.

ACTUAL PICTURE FACING WALL D

So that’s about it. All ideas will be very appreciated.

We are going to post on the forum about this, but if you want to email me directly, you can email me at accoustichelp@yahoo.com

THANKS!
